Being Healthy and Staying Active

Health is wealth – an adage that we have all grown up with. Yet, few of us really pay attention to health when we are young and seemingly fit. Diet and exercise is an important part of a daily routine, something that all doctors recommend.

Endless studies have stressed on the fact that staying active and being healthy depends on what we eat and how much physical activity we indulge in. However, most of us do not have the inclination, time or energy to stick to these rigid rules. More often than not, people tend to forget that their bodies have an expiration date. If they want longevity and also live in perfect shape, then lot of hard work is required. It is a fact that most of us do not realize the importance of working out or eating healthy till we are forced to do so due to ill-health.

Being healthy automatically means being active and vice versa. There are ways to keep oneself fit and fine; however, the most important thing to do is to motivate ourselves to stick to a plan of eating healthy and exercising regularly. It’s harder than we imagine and yet when we get into the routine it can fall in place quite easily.

It’s just a matter of habit.

Most people start a weight loss program and then leave it midway due to lack of motivation and of course, due to the hard work required. However, if we could stick to it, we will benefit in the long run. For most of us, physical activity like routine and rigid workouts seem boring. This is the crux of the problem. We need to train ourselves, rather our minds to think positively about our health and exercising.
